Welcome to our Dojo

All our junior members will be taught martial arts, NOT just how to kick or punch!

At SHUDOKAN FAMILY KARATE CENTRE, your goals are our goals!

We will help all our student not only achieve, but succeed in all of their goals.

All our junior members will be taught martial arts, NOT just how to kick or punch!

We will always put the Students first and have an open door policy, to allow our club to grow as a family.

We promote physical fitness and positive social interaction in a courteous and respectful atmosphere. Our greatest responsibility is to instill in our students a sense of discipline and a code of ethics to inspire them to lead exemplary lives as leaders in the community.

Although we honor Goju Ryu Karate traditions that go back centuries, we are dynamic and are constantly seeking new and innovative ways to enthuse and excite our students.

World-Class Instructors

We are enthusiastic students of karate and are passionate about passing the tradition on to the next generation. All of our senior instructors are first-aid and CPR certified, and have vulnerable sector screening background checks.

Our dojo has the honour and privilege of hosting many talented instructors from around the world.

International Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate-do Federation (I.O.G.K.F.) World Headquarters

The International Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate-do Federation (IOGKF) is the largest traditional Okinawan Karate organization in the world. Shudokan Family Karate Centre is both the Canadian and world headquarters for the IOGKF. Under the leadership of World Chief Instructor, Sensei Tetsuji Nakamura and his International Executive committee, IOGKF International is committed to preserving the intangible cultural treasure of Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate-do, which has been passed down to us in its original form from one generation to the next. IOGKF founder and legendary Goju-ryu supreme Master, Sensei Morio Higaonna still advises the Federation to this day and provides a direct lineage to the styles founder.

Since its establishment in 1979, the IOGKF has attracted culturally diverse martial arts practitioners from around the world, who have joined the organization after recognizing the authenticity and excellence of the IOGKF and its undeniable connect to the origins of the style. Our members actively support our mission, objectives, and activities and IOGKF holds countless seminars, training camps and major International events every year. With over 75,000 members in 59 different nations, IOGKF welcomes all potential members to join our International Karate family.
