Onegaishimasu,

Shudokan Family Karate recently held our annual Board Breaking fundraiser to support our local community. The purpose of the fundraiser is to teach our children the spirit of sharing, compassion and helping others in need.

This year we once again gave our support to the Burlington Humane Society which is a non-profit organization that operates solely on the generosity of public donations. The majority of their staff are volunteers who provide care for abandoned or abused dogs and cats while waiting to be placed in foster homes and adoption. They have a no-kill policy and do everything possible to give the animals a good home while waiting for placement.

Of course, the part of the fun of the Board Breaking fundraiser is when the children get the chance to break their boards! There were many powerful punches and kicks and no board was left unbroken. You can find photos of the board breaking below.

This year Shudokan students raised $2175. Our donation will go towards the comfort and welfare of the animals. Thank you to everyone who raised funds for this worthy cause.
